This was our first match of the season and I would like to applaud everyone for trekking all the way to Kingston to play the match at 8pm!! I thought we had to come back at midnight! But we finished a bit earlier so we managed to get back home before sunrise.
We lost overall but it was a very close match, we nearly drew. I think we did our best considering we haven't had much practice since term started and Ash, our new team member who only joined a week ago, took on the challenge to play singles!
If they're keeping the same players then I am sure we'll win next time! Their second pair was so weak that during the match we actually had to teach them how to play badminton! Anna and I were constantly reminding them of the rules. We also took the opportunity to try some new shots with them since they were not a threat at all. Cissy was right, we could have played them with our non-dominant hand.
Their first pair was a bit tougher, but with some coaching we can beat them next time! Cissy was doing a great job from when I had the chance to watch her play. She was giving the opponents all she has got, smashing at them and defending their smashes, not letting them win so easily.
Alisha and Ash both played their singles match and did fairly well so well done! And Nikita is clearly improving so keep it up!
