Our first win of the season, celebratory KFC was definitely called for. Balanced out with a carrot of course.
I think it's safe to say that everyone felt more relaxed going into this match. The opponents had a laugh with us and we had plenty of time to finish our games. There was definitely a lot less tension floating around and our performance really improved. As well as that, we got to enjoy some really competitive badminton.
It was pretty clear straight away that we were going to have trouble with their first pair. They won against all 3 of our pairs despite the games being incredibly close. I really think we should have had them beaten but I guess that's just how it goes sometimes.
The pace really picked up in the other games, with RUMS winning 5 of the remaining 6 pairings, all with 2-0 scores. It's not necessary to go through individual performances at this point. Everyone seemed more at ease with the tactics this time and if we get in a bit more practice it can only get better.
