So we finally got the shirts and it obviously scared the 'shire folk as they only brought 5 out of a team of 6. Excellent, I thought, that's two games to RUMS and we hadn't even started the match.
But then we started the match... which is where it started to go wrong! This week's RUMS hopefuls comprised: Neil, Nick, Guy, Marvin, Hamster and, of course, yours truly. However, I couldn't even console myself with winning a rubber (as myself and Guy didn't, although we won one game if that counts for anything?!). The overall scoreline (6-2) reflected a lack on all of our behalves (except in enthusiasm): fitness? skill? practice? We're not quite sure but Nick's tackling the first with some circuit training next week!
No doubt, we will be separating the men from the boys soon. But I worry that we may very well not have anybody in the former category, once the separation is over. Ho hum! At least we all had fun! For more fun, don't forget the christmas dinner... which Marvin or someone will be notifying us of soon (cough, cough!)... Incidentally, there is also a facebook RUMS Badminton group should you wish to join.
